Atlantis is a melancholic drift through the mind of a mother who longs for the veneer of her world to crack.
During an idyllic family vacation by the sea, Marie, the matriarch, develops an irrepressible urge to escape. As days go by and the languor of the vacation envelops them, her relatives feel a growing threat weighing on their clan. To the sound of the waves crashing on the shore, Atlantis opens a window into the final moments of a family on the brink

“Honestly, I want this film as a feature-length (by tomorrow morning).”
“With Atlantis, Jean-François Sauvé sought to explore the theme of separation through the eyes of a family traveling in the Dominican Republic.” Inspired by vacation memories, he shared his idea with Zoé Pelchat, who wanted to co-write and co-direct the project.
